What You’ll Spend to Get Licensed (It’s Less Than You Think)
Good news—you can officially cross “startup fees” off your list. It’s free to join the agency. No monthly membership. No surprise fees. No nonsense.
The only real investment is in getting licensed. Here’s the scoop:
- 📝 Pre-licensing Course – Normally $200 but our agency has a deal. We got you covered for $50
- 🧠 State Exam – About $100 (varies by state)
- ✅ License Application – Another ~$100 (also state-dependent)
- 🛡️ E&O Insurance – ~$400/year (monthly plans available)
- 🔐 AML Training – $12.50 (this is your anti-money laundering certificate)
💡 So what’s the total to get licensed, insured, and ready to roll? Roughly $400, give or take. That’s it. Once you’re licensed, any additional costs—like leads—are totally optional and up to you.
You Gotta Block Time Like a Boss
Let’s be real—if you’re looking for a magic income button, this ain’t it. But if you’re ready to build something real? You can do this.
Whether you treat this like a part-time side gig or a full-time career, the key is this: you need dedicated, focused time on your calendar. Not just wishful thinking—actual blocked time where you show up and work.
This means:
- Talking to real people
- Listening to their needs
- Recommending policies with integrity
- Writing applications
- Following up and serving clients with excellence
This is a business, not a hobby. But if you bring the consistency, the reward follows.
You’ve Gotta Study to Pass
Getting licensed isn’t hard, but it does require focus. You’ll need to carve out 15–20 hours to complete your pre-licensing course and prep for the exam. Most people knock it out in 2–4 weeks with consistent effort.
Now—some people have passed in as little as two days (yep, it’s happened!). That’s not typical, but it is possible if you treat it like a sprint. Others take their time and finish in a month. **You pick the pace.**
Just know this: repetition and momentum are your best friends. The more consistently you study, the faster it’ll stick. The course is online, self-paced, and we guide you through it—but you have to put in the time.
Here’s what works best:
– Block 2 hours a day for 7–10 days (or pace it out to fit your life)
– Turn off distractions (your phone will still be there afterward)
– Take the quizzes seriously—they prep you for the real thing
– Ask for help when you need it—we’ve got your back
This is your first win in the business—prove to yourself that you can follow through. If you can show up for this, you can show up for your future clients too.

2. Set Your Study Schedule
